Little Sore but Doing Well

It's been a couple of days since I got discharged from the hospital and I have been recovering from my lumpectomy. (This is an update from my last blog post; https://www.pigeondynamite.com/blogs/news/jewelry-for-breast-cancer-relief)

I have to leave a note; this blog post is pretty much about my personal experience, but in the good intention of rising the awareness for breast cancer and I am hoping my experience would benefit those who are going through the same or similar situation as mine in any way.

It's been a week since my surgery and I am still a bit sore around my upper arm sometimes as they took out a few lymph from my armpit, but thanks to the amazing medical professionals, I am doing well. I truly cannot give enough credit to those people in the medical fields. This is one of the moments I feel that they really keep me alive and trying their best to save me.

My diagnosis was Luminal A breast cancer, which is commonly called hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer.  My lump was removed and they took sentinel lymph nodes to study the spread of the cancer at the surgery.  The Dr said the autopsy result would come in about two weeks after the surgery.  This would decide my treatment to follow up.  It's going to be radiation therapy if there was no sign on the spread, following the hormone treatment for some years.  And if there was, either the sign of spread, or the cancer cells turned out to be more invasive, then I'd have to do chemo therapy first.

As of now, I am waiting anxiously to find out, though, I am calm.  For the support I have with my family, friends, and trusted medical team, I am more than blessed and thankful.

And luckily, I could move my arm pretty quickly and without mostly no pain.  I got back to my relatively normal life fairly quickly.  Now, I just need to gain my strength to start my treatment next month whatever it may be.

My atelier will be closed for this month, but I will update as soon as I know when to be back. AND! There will be some exciting, beautiful new jewelry before the holiday season coming soon! So stay tuned! Lastly, this is a few of my hospital stay photos..I know, boring.

It's just so rare to see my hand without any rings, let alone having this thick IV attached to my vein.

I needed my statement rings back so bad. But you can!

Thank you for reading!
